I have worked as an illustrator/designer for the past 16 years. During that time, I have created artwork for children’s educational software, children’s books, greeting cards, rubber stamps, and a variety of scrapbook products.

Every day is another opportunity to learn, explore new ideas and to develop my artistic talent. I am very grateful for a job that makes it possible to do what I love.

I was raised in Bellevue Washington, and while growing up, I was encouraged to pursue my creative interests by my parents, friends and teachers. My parents supported me in taking community classes in calligraphy, cake decorating, pottery, sumi painting, oil painting, etc.

I always knew I wanted to be in a creative field when I was older. I ended up going to college at Brigham Young University, and majored in Design with an emphasis in illustration. While in school, I focused mostly on creating artwork for children’s books, but I also loved to create patterns and I frequently used them in my illustrations. Eventually I earned a B.F.A. in design. At the time, I thought maybe I could work for Hallmark designing greeting cards and gift-wrap, but my career took a different turn that has currently put me in the Scrapbooking industry.

I consider myself extremely fortunate to be making a living as an artist. I enjoy having a job where I can be creative. A very talented team of creative professionals surrounds me. Every day is another opportunity to learn, explore new ideas and to develop my artistic talent. I am very grateful for a job that makes it possible to do what I love.

When I am not working, I enjoy spending time fly-fishing and hiking with my husband Russ, gardening, making and eating chocolate chip cookies, quilting, watching movies, and my newest diversion has been creating stuffed monsters.
